The Food Security Project (FSP) aims to improve nutrition and encourage financial independence by promoting sustainable and environmentally conscious agricultural practices and entrepreneurship within the larger community surrounding Nsondole. Right now, food security is an especially critical issue in Malawi. Due to the effects of El Niño, Malawi is currently experiencing a prolonged drought, which has significantly reduced harvests. The country’s most vulnerable communities are at an even greater risk of being food insecure. Because of these specific circumstances, working with the community to develop sustainable solutions to this pressing issue is of primary importance. Story Time would like to set up a small shareholder school farm with goats, chickens, and vegetable crops. We also want to create a community led agriculture network.
